2025 Schedule of Events

To participate in the Wyoming High School State Art Symposium your school must be a member of the Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA) and have paid the art activity dues.

Only current WSAE members are allowed to hang student artwork and have students eligible for scholarships. Membership dues are paid at Symposium registration for each instructor.

Friday, April 16th at 11:45pm MDT Deadline for applications for WSAE scholarship applications.

Wednesday, April 30th 

 8 a.m. Arena set-up (Committee & Select Students Only)

10 a.m. – 2 p.m. New Teacher Questions Ask at Registration Desk

Noon - 4:30 p.m. Registration & General exhibit set up

1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Set up raffle items & Silent auction items (Bidding starts at 1:00, silent auction items in front of registration desk)

3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. Set-up educators’ artwork exhibit at Nicolaysen Museum

5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. First shift judging.  Pick up information at registration desk.  Buses park in Lot 11.  Enter through South East door.  Student Competitions and activities begin (2nd floor and concourse). No students on arena floor, no exceptions.

6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Second shift judging.  Pick up information at the registration desk.  First shift judges take over the competitions to relieve second shift judges.


Thursday,May 1st

8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Scholarship interviews – Star Room – Arena Floor

9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Exhibits open to the public.  Entrance at the Box Office Doors

Demonstrations – art schools and colleges.  Vendors (art materials exhibit) – Concourse floor, Casper Events Center                                    

Nicolaysen Museum and Discovery Center (Educators Art Exhibits)

Downtown and Casper College Art Gallery tours

3:30p.m. Student ballots for Student Choice Awards due at registration desk

6 p.m. Dinner -Must reserve tickets during Registration Process.

7 p.m. Awards Ceremony at Natrona County High School Auditorium.

Dance and activities to follow.

Friday, May 2nd 

8 a.m. Student workshops – 

8:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. WSAE Spring Meeting – Concourse Southwest area 

9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Exhibit opens to public.  Entrance at Box Office door

11 a.m. Silent Auction Bids end.  High bidders check at registration desk.

11 a.m. Raffle drawing for various artworks, gift certificates, etc.

12 p.m. End of exhibit; Boxes may now be brought in, student artwork may now be removed.  


Copy work at the Art Symposium

Is it ok to enter work that is copying or referencing other work? Students may enter their best work in the show, but we do want to encourage honesty about the design process. Please watch the video and take a look at the example. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask us.
